Wet 'n Wild Orlando

Opened in 1977 by George Millay, who also started SeaWorld. Most people call it the first real water park. It closed in 2016 and Volcano Bay was built in its place.Opened 13 March 1977 by SeaWorld co-founder George Millay and generally called the first major purpose-built water park. It lost US$600,000 in year one, then thrived at ~1.3 m visitors a year; Universal bought it in 1998 and closed it on 31 December 2016 to make way for Volcano Bay.
